Summary

Following his explosive New York Times bestseller Red Notice, Bill Browder returns with another gripping thriller chronicling how he became Vladimir Putin’s number one enemy by exposing Putin’s campaign to steal and launder hundreds of billions of dollars and kill anyone who stands in his way。

When Bill Browder’s young Russian lawyer, Sergei Magnitsky, was beaten to death in a Moscow jail, Browder made it his life’s mission to go after his killers and make sure they faced justice。 The first step of that mission was to uncover who was behind the $230 tax refund scheme that Magnitsky was killed over。 As Browder and his team tracked the money as it flowed out of Russia through the Baltics and Cyprus and on to Western Europe and the Americas, they were shocked to discovered that Vladmir Putin himself was a beneficiary of the crime。

As law enforcement agencies began freezing the money, Putin retaliated。 He and his cronies set up honey traps, hired process servers to chase Browder through cities, murdered more of his Russian allies, and enlisted some of the top lawyers and politicians in America to bring him down。 Putin will stop at nothing to protect his money。 As Freezing Order reveals, it was Browder’s campaign to expose Putin’s corruption that prompted Russia’s intervention in the 2016 US presidential election。

At once a financial caper, an international adventure, and a passionate plea for justice, Freezing Order is a stirring morality tale about how one man can take on one of the most ruthless villains in the world—and win。

I’ve been eagerly anticipating this book since I read Bill Browder’s jaw dropping debut book, Red Notice, in one sitting。 I generally follow the news, so I know that Putin is a bad guy, but you don’t realize the total depravity of the Putin regime until someone like Browder writes about all of his atrocities in one tome。 This book is another incredible journey into the pits of Russian degeneracy, and the Russian government’s fight against the Magnitsky Act that Browder fought so hard to pass to I’ve been eagerly anticipating this book since I read Bill Browder’s jaw dropping debut book, Red Notice, in one sitting。 I generally follow the news, so I know that Putin is a bad guy, but you don’t realize the total depravity of the Putin regime until someone like Browder writes about all of his atrocities in one tome。 This book is another incredible journey into the pits of Russian degeneracy, and the Russian government’s fight against the Magnitsky Act that Browder fought so hard to pass to vindicate the death of his friend and attorney, Sergei Magnitsky。 Magnitsky exposed Russian corruption and misconduct alongside Browder and was subsequently tortured and killed by the regime。 From the first chapter to the last, I was hanging on to the edge of my seat during the entire book, as Browder courageously tries to find out who was behind the spiderweb of money laundering and murder and why。Browder is to be commended for his bravery in standing up to one of the worst human rights abusers in the world。 What a different world this would be if we all displayed such courage。 One of the most impactful takeaways from this book is that none of this could happen without western enablers and the acquiescence of timid and ineffective governments that refuse to follow their own laws and values。 You can see this clearly today。 Especially in light of current events, this book is a must read that takes a look the psyche of Putin and his horrific regime。 Many thanks to Simon & Schuster and Net Galley for this digital ARC in exchange for my honest review。 。。。more

WOW!!!!! I won this book through Goodreads Giveaways and I’m SO GLAD that I did。 It reads like a fiction thriller, but all of it is true! For doubters, everything in the book was so publicized during the actual events it would be easy to fact check any claim or event。 I can’t imagine what it was like for Bill Browder and his family for so many years。 There will never be enough people in the world with the courage that he, and those that experienced all this and continue to fight, possesses。

This stunning book, received from Goodreads, should be in everyone's hands。 It reads like a work of fiction but is terrifyingly true。 Browder is brave beyond belief to expose this massive corruption and evil。 This stunning book, received from Goodreads, should be in everyone's hands。 It reads like a work of fiction but is terrifyingly true。 Browder is brave beyond belief to expose this massive corruption and evil。 。。。more

Can’t make this shit up。 A timely pageturner that not only highlights the terrifying lengths that Putin will go to to protect his kleptocracy but also shows the susceptibility of American politicians to his propaganda。 Unputdownable。I think it’s helpful, but not necessary, to have read Browder’s prior book, Red Notice。 But it does mean that the first section of this book will feel a bit repetitive。

Freezing Order by Bill Browder I knew who Mr。 Browder is but I have not read his previous book Red Notice。 This book I believe is a continuation of the process to get passage by the US as well as Europe for the Magnitsky Act。 This bill named in honor of Sergei Magnitsky who worked with Mr。 Browder in Moscow and was killed in prison by the FSB。 The bill would allow the US Government to freeze assets and prevent their entering the US belonging to people involved in crimes against humanity anywhere Freezing Order by Bill Browder I knew who Mr。 Browder is but I have not read his previous book Red Notice。 This book I believe is a continuation of the process to get passage by the US as well as Europe for the Magnitsky Act。 This bill named in honor of Sergei Magnitsky who worked with Mr。 Browder in Moscow and was killed in prison by the FSB。 The bill would allow the US Government to freeze assets and prevent their entering the US belonging to people involved in crimes against humanity anywhere in the world。 The primary focus has been on oligarchs from Russia。 The Bill was passed in the US in 2012 and I believe by the EU in 2020。 It has not been easy and Mr。 Browder a British citizen has been threatened and convicted in Russia on multiple occasions without defending himself。 He is a hero。 But the real villains are not V。 Putin and other autocrats around the world but good old American citizens willing to do the bidding of Putin for money。 This book outlines some of these despicable characters as well as the actions of Mr。 Trump, his children and followers。 These people included lawyers one of whom has a name you can-not make up John Moscow to attempt to defend Russian oligarchs stealing of Russian Tax money and prevent the information to be placed into the record in a US court proceeding。 The second was during the Putin, Trump press conference in Helsinki。 This occurred after The Mueller report indicted 12 Russians for hacking into the Democrats server。 Putin suggested he would be happy to have the US FBI interview these twelve in the US would send twelve people wanted by the Russians for questioning。 These include Mr。 Browder and former US Ambassador to Russia, Michael McFaul。 Mr。 Trump thought this was a great idea! It took well over a week for Mr。 Trump to be talked out of this idea。 This is a very good book to read unfortunately it will most likely not be read by those in the Fox Universe who should read about the collusion between money, Trump and Putin。 。。。more
